Part 6

After we had done the base of the bamboo,now is the time for us to built the upper part!It is jus a triangular shape.So,we split 2 bamboo so that we can get 4 bamboo to built the triangle.

We try to split the bamboo using parang.

We need to stand on high place when start to spilt the bamboo.

Finally,we had done!Here was the photo shooting with bamboo!ha

Bamboo Dome-Part 3

After we bought the bamboo,we put it under the sun to let it dry so that the bamboo will become lighter.This is because water inside young bamboo will be evaporate.

Here was the bamboo which had dry and become yellow brown colour.

After that,we measure the length and width needed by 3 of us and start to cut the bamboo in the right length.

Finally it break after we put on hard work to cut the bamboo into suitable length!

Here was the result!This was our base for the bamboo dome.

Bamboo Dome-Part 2

On 11/8,my 132 lecture En.Wan B required our group to name and sketch out the bamboo ship.So we decided to name our ship as Titanic II.We sketch out the 1v dome since we decide to make it simple because it was an experiment for us.

My lecture gives us guide on how to built the joint between the bamboo so that it is prefabricated.Here's was the top part of the bamboo dome:






Using water paip and nuts as the joint.We have to burn the paip to make the paip become flat before we screw it with nut.





After that,we went to bengkel perkayuan & logam to ask the worker whether they can provide us the paip and nut.In the end,we have to buy it outside since they do not have it.Anyway thanks to the worker because he give us the guide on how to joint the bamboo using paip.

Bamboo Dome-Part 1

This is a giant project for me because i have to built a large bamboo dome with group members which is able to float all 3 members included me.My group member included Suet Ching(leader) and Yuh Hui and my group name is YTT which represent our surname(Yew,Tay,Tan).It is tough but we still have to do it so that we can become tougher.

The long journey start with discussion with my group members on how to do the bamboo dome.So,we decided to discuss in hostel.

Many ideas was cross along our minds.At start,we discuss how to do the base of dome so that it can float 3 of us.We discuss for quite a long time because the base is important for us to float.In the end,we decide to built a rectangular base and bamboo dome on the centre.

We also measure the base length of our bamboo dome which is about 100 cm.Besides,we also decide to use cable ties to tie up all the bamboo.At last,we still think that our idea is not strong enough so we pay a visit at the bengkel on tomorrow after the class.

We go inside the bengkel perkayuan dan logam and try to seek someone for the help.

I feel glad because one of the worker there recomment us to tie up the bamboo using the tyre of the motorcycle which want to throw away by the owner.

This was the worker that we met with posing,haha.

After we get the good idea,we straight move to a motor shop at Sg.Dua and try get the motor tyre.

The shop owner was so kind and he agree to give us the motor tyre to us.On the next day,we received the call from the shop owner so we go there to collect it.

My Real Construction

Production of Geodesic Dome


It was really hard for me because i having difficulty on doing all kind of handcraft.I cant even draw a straight line using free hand and the line i produce will be very wrest.However,this task has test my patient.I finally done it although it was not perfect on others view but i think it is good enough for me.

The actor is me and my intention is to produce a stable dome.


I act by produce a geodesic dome in 3 days and the rule is using bamboo stick to produce the dome.


My concept is produce a stable dome and will not break even though we compress it.So,i try to use rubber band to combine the bamboo stick.I know it was time consuming and i maybe will not get the excellent result but i still had a try on it.It was an experiment for me.


The action:


This was the materials i used.

The materials included bamboo stick,rubber band for hair(because it was small),pen and ruler.

I choose to do the 3V dome and here is the assembly diagram from the website.

To start the first step,we need to know each side of the length of the triangle and combine all the triangles together.

I choose to produce the dome with 10cm radius.From the website,this was the diagram for triangles.

The real length for length A =34.86mm B=30.35mm C=41.24mm.I do not have the tool to measure the accurate reading so i choose to convert it to the nearest tens.A=35mm B=31mm C=41mm.However,i add extra 5mm to each length because the bamboo stick will overlap each other.So the final length for A=40mm,B=36mm,C=46mm.


I measure the length of bamboo stick using ruler and i had 3 sets of bamboo stick with length A,B and C.I break the bamboo stick using cutter.

Next,here was the headache part where i have to tie all the bamboo stick together.

I try to do it patiently although my eyes had turn red.

This was how i tie up the rubber band.

Finally i had done it and my eyes was so tired!Although it was not perfect but it was more stronger and stable than what i thought.

Virtual Contruction

This was the photo i took when i went to Queenbay Mall with my father and the day before i went for QS interview in USM.

The intention in this photo is the long lorry wants to send some ew cars to the shop.The people involve is the driver of this long lorry.The driver act by driving the lorry to send the cars.By the way,the driver follow the rule by control the vehicle speed limit (less than 80km per hour).The product is the cars reach the shop safely and was display in the shop.The place for displaying the cars was the Perodua shop.

This was the photo i took when my brother was involve in the sukan in secondary school.



Intention:The students and my brother that sit in front wish to take photos of the sport events.They want to post the photo of the sukan in school magazine.


People:My brother and his friends that holding camera.Parents,teachers and students that take part in the sport events.



Act:Take photo of the sport events by holding a camera.



Rule:Sitting on a suitable place and take every photo of the sport events.

The intention of me,my family and relatives is taking a rest when school holiday a
and spend quality time with relatives.We wish to involve in scuba diving in Pulau Tioman.

Act:My uncle fetch us to ferry and we reach there by boat.We rent a speed boat to scuba dive around the island.


Rule:Wear a safety jacket when sit in the boat and when scuba diving.


Product:We got the experience by saw different kind of fishes and various colour of coral (both death and alive)
